LuRich: Fresh Mind Album
LuRich’s first ever released album “Fresh Mind”, is a must listen. With eighteen original songs, enthralling lyrics and unanticipated melodies, this album creates a unique sound that only LuRich can bring to the table. A variety of sounds that listeners want to hear. The beats and lyrics have a special way making it into the listeners ears, putting the track back on replay. Each song has a different message and meaning but all of the songs have a feeling of true success, happiness, and individualism, which is represented in the hit “bankroll, number 17 on the album. “Fresh Mind” is LuRich’s best work yet, leaving no discussion of disappointment.
LuRich’s “Fresh Mind” was released on January 12th, 2022, and became available to stream on all major platforms, such as Spotify, Pandora, I-Tunes, and Apple-music, just to name a few.The album features guests artist like Voyce, Doc Smith, Snoop 300, Kayla K, J. Bayne, and JSun. First single on the album is “Show Off,” which sets the tone just right when welcoming the rest of the track, in a smooth and reminiscent of old school hip-hop adding a splash of retro vibes in track three, “Pimp N Swerve”. All in all, this album is hands down a true masterpiece.
Throughout the album, the spotlight singles out the younger adults, around the times in their life where, circumstances became reality, turning into a daily war of survival. “Fresh Mind” puts realistic scenarios into everyday situations, for the young adults that only seen hustling as a way of making ends meet, struggling all the way to the top. In track no. 10 “catch me if you can” puts the listener in perspective of how thin the actual line of, getting away with it, and, getting caught up in it, can either mean success or loosing everything. Always try remembering to stay one step ahead, and never take anything, especially as something so small as freedom, for granted, because the smallest value can have the biggest impact.
Although this album demonstrates hardship and determination, it also leaves room for vulnerability. Expressing warmth and meaningfulness throughout the album, specifically in no.2 of the soundtrack, “Supernova” and again in no.14 “If You Were My Girl,” signifying tenderness. There’s no soul without love, connection, or thoughtfulness, and LuRich made sure this album was given just that, from beginning to end. The album also reached the female ear, grabbing her attention with affection, the female listener is drawn in on passion and admirations, track no.15 “We are Freaks”gives the perfect combination of the two, after all, who doesn’t like to feel needed?
If you are interested in what LuRich has to offer musically, then I would highly recommend downloading his album “Fresh Mind”. It will not only be a worthwhile investment but also an enjoyable piece of art that you can listen to over and over again. If there’s one thing LuRich is known for, it’s his music. From start to finish, each song brings a new sound that pushes the boundaries without sacrificing depth. The beats and lyrics have a special way of making it into your ears, keeping you coming back for more. This keepsake is an album that all listeners are sure to enjoy. With a record like this on the market, you may be wondering why this hasn’t been spread around to every corner in the world. No doubt it will be soon enough, but until then, we tip our hats off to LuRich, a true talent of our time.

Lil Flip: A Lyrical Mastermind
Wesley Eric Weston Jr, famously known by his stage name, Lil Flip, is the third generational Weston, descended from his grandfather Wesley Weston Sr. Lil’ Flip is a 40 year old American OG rapper, record producer, and songwriter from Houston, TX. Kicking off his career he quickly gained recognizance for being a freestyle and battle rapper, making him apart of the stepping stones towards the growth of hip-hop history.
Lil Flip may no longer be a household name but he’s one of the many stories of how anybody can thrive in this industry on their own. This true story about Lil’ Flip shows that through hard work and determination, he made his dreams into a reality resulting in his career. Lil’ Flip is just one of the thousands of inspirational stories that, no matter what happens, never give up on yourself, fight through all the tough times in your career, and always believe in your vision.
Hustling from the bottom and putting his talent number one on his priority list, Lil’ Flip didn’t let fear of fitting in or being liked affect his career journey. He lead strong with creating his own style and continuing with being an independently ran and operated artist. His hard work paid off, and at 18 years old he signed his first independent record label deal with Suckafree Records, in 1999.
After signing with Suckafree Records, an independent label, it didn’t take long before Lil’Flip took off, catching the attention from a well-known and respected DJ, Dj Screw, with his debut album “The Leprechaun.” Mid-way into 2000, Dj Screw added his newest founded talent to the popular rap group “Screwed Up Click.” Shortly after placing him in the group, Dj Screw gave the title and pronounced Lil’ Flip “The Freestyle King.”
“The Freestyle King” and his first debut studio album “The Leprechaun” was released the summer of 2000. More than 200,000 copies of the first album were sold alone, making it a massive hit for its time.
When considering offers in 2002 from Loud Records, Lil’ Flip and his deal with his independently owned music recording label, Suckafree, were both offered contracts. Loud Records seemed to honor Lil’ Flip's relationship with Suckafree. They both felt that the label understood their accomplishments as a independent record label, as well as what they stood for. Soon after, Flip started recording his first national album at the age of 20, honoring his newly signed record deal.
Releasing on August 27, 2002, Lil’ Flip produced his “Underground Legend” album, this was his first nationally released album ever. The record contained hit single “The Way We Ball” and a remix to his hit “I Can Do That.” The album reached platinum status in December of 2002. Although the record did not receive much or even any promotions from Loud Records, it still made Billboard 200 and Top Rap Albums in the U.S charts.
Dj Screw wasn't the only artist who saw all of Lil' Flip's untapped potential. Anyone could say that Flip was seen as one of the very few lucky artists of his time. He has released many collaborative albums and studio albums with some of the most memorable legends while they were still in their professional rapping careers. He collaborated with artists such as BeyoncĂ© in "Naughty girl (remix)", Chingy, Nelly's album "Sweat", Jim Jones, Chamillionaire in his first single, "Turn it up", Ludacris’s track "Screwed Up", and again in 2003 with Three Six Mafia single,"Ridden Spinners", just to name a few.
2003 was a big year for Lil’ Flip as he began working with Real Talk Entertainment, which was founded by Derrick “sac” Johnson. This wasn't just any record label, it was a label focused on releasing albums that reached gold and platinum status. In 2003, Lil’ Flip was one of the record label's supporting artists, making him the perfect fit.
Due to his most songs making it into the top charts as well as U.S. Billboards, many of Lil’ Flip's albums even went gold and platinum status. Impressive for an Atlanta based rapper. His studio albums included "El Jefe", "King", "Life", and "The Art of Freestyle".
Since Lil' Flip chose the independent path for his journey with the music industry, it gave him a wide range of opportunities at his disposal. Flip made more money and had more control of his career by choosing the independent route.
Eventually founding his very own record label in 2007, calling it “Clover G Records”.
Accomplishing a lot of impressive milestones throughout his lyrical experience, collaborating with some of hip-hop’s big named artists, and selling over 23 million records worldwide, as well as a few double-disc albums, saying Lil’ Flip was a huge success in what he did for the history of hip-hop would be an understatement. He even took it to another level by creating brands in clothing and shoe wear that were sensational hits. Naming both lines of brands after his record label, Clover G Records.
Maturing and slowing down with his older years closing in on him, Lil’ Flip takes a step out of the mainstream eye. He’s even admitted that he’s seen changes within the music industry. His net worth today in 2022, is 4 million, and don’t forget to check out his website at lilflipmusic.net, where he still thrives independently.

JUICE WRLD: A HIP-HOP LEGEND
On December 8th, 2019 Juice Wrld or otherwise known by as, Jarred Higgins, a 21 year old Chicago rapper overdosed in his hometowns midway International Airport. For fans of Juice Wrld, it was a devastating blow. Juice Wrld was one of the many hip-hop legacy rappers to unexpectedly pass away over the course of the past three years, with a heavy heart filled with grief, condolences goes out to the music industry. Juice Wrld’s vivacious personality and clever lyrics had made him immensely popular. Juice was so unique from his ability of producing his style of music that reached and affected a new uncovered audience. Having similar issues with mental health, thousands of fans can relate to Juice Wrld and his music, even more so with young adults and a range of the younger generation. These specific fans began to not feel as alone in the world and was able to be heard for the first time.
With so many Americans suffering in silence with demons from their own head, Juice Wrld, and other influencers, began normalizing speaking up about mental awareness, talking with friends and family about suicide, and seeking additional help from hotlines to licensed trained professionals. In a statement by ‘Teen Mental Health’ that 1 in 5 young people suffers from a mental illness, that’s 20 percent of our population. We live in a world today, where mental health is still only seen as a stigma, but with the number of individuals becoming more aware, stigma numbers drop. Juice Wrld was in the middle of bringing light to not only mental illness but also to the unspoken issues that ran around in society. He also wanted to warn the younger generation just as Tupac and Biggie once did. Encouraging for Juice speaking through his lyrics, leaving a message for the world to hear and sense of release for those struggling under the weight of depression and anxiety.
Rap music continues to still be stigmatized around the world even viewed as unproductive and even damaging toward society. Even more so now when society’s change is in such high demand.
The unexpected tragedy left the fans that relied on Juice Wrld’s music to get them through a day, heartbroken and uncertain of what was in store for the future. Hopelessly, a lot of beloved fans showed respect by playing his songs on repeat. After listening over a few times, fans quickly realized his lyrics had chilling details that were easily dismissed in the pass, came to a realization he very well could’ve been crying for help all this time. A cry for help, for just one soul to hear what he was really speaking about, realizing now after his sudden death, especially in his newly released song called ‘Wishing Well’ making lyrics like ‘I cry out for help, do they listen? Ima be alone until it’s finished.’
That’s not all, countless songs have subtle lyrics hinting for someone to see pass the fame, past his tough guy act, and past his passive aggressive behavior to see he was drowning and begging for anybody to come give him a deep breath of fresh air. Another example to this conspiracy is Juice was fooling his fans that he was in fact getting better and overcoming his disease with drug abuse, and that he was living ‘normally’ and would have everything a ‘wealthy rapper’ would have, but his lyrics would make anyone think otherwise, in ‘Fighting Demons’ he says, ‘I got rich, I got rich, I’m living that fast life.. and that’s suppose to make me happy. I got a couple questions. How come that.. don’t even make me happy.’ Proof that money does not in fact bring you happiness.
With Juice Wrld’s death, he left behind an impactful legacy that was just beginning to blossom after signing with Interscope records back in 2018. Soon after releasing his album ‘Death Race for Love’ quickly became Juice’s first no. 1 album through Grade A/ Interscope on March 8, 2019. Coming a long way from trying to establish a music career on SoundCloud and going by ‘Juicee the Kid’ to winning multiple music awards, signing with a major record label, and to now, a unforgettable icon that will forever be missed by thousands of fans who will carry his music down to generations to come.
